“Ow!” Rodney cried as he twisted away from Carson.

“I haven’t even bloody touched you yet, Rodney,” Carson said, his hand hovering near Rodney’s red skin.

“But you’re going to!”

Sighing, Carson pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand before looking at Rodney again. “I can’t make your sunburn better if you won’t let me put the cream on,” he explained as he tried hard not to lose his patience.

Rodney stared at Carson for a long moment before nodding. “Okay,” he said before squeezing his eyes shut. “Ow!”

Carson carefully rubbed the cream on back of Rodney’s neck, and rolled his eyes when the other man continued to flinch. “I’m still confused about how you got sunburned while wearing a hazmat suit,” he said as he squeezed more of the cream on his fingers, and went back to spreading it on Rodney’s neck.

“Major Torture wouldn’t let me stop and rest when I needed to so when we finally did stop, I had to take my head piece off because I was so hot,” Rodney said as he slowly opened his eyes.

“I happen to like Major Lorne, and I doubt he was that mean to you,” Carson said. He finished applying the cream, and picked up a towel to wipe his hands off.

“You think everyone is nice,” Rodney pointed out.

“True. After all, I think you’re nice...most of the time,” Carson said with a grin.

“Oh, ha ha,” Rodney muttered.

Carson snorted and handed the tube of cream to the other man. “You’re all set. Just reapply the cream on a few hours,” he said. “And put ice on it if it continues to bother you.”

Rodney took the cream and looked down at it before looking at Carson. “That’s it? You aren’t going to check and make sure I’m not sunburned in other places?” he asked with a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Carson smirked, and shook his head. “Perhaps later. I do make housecalls, you know,” he said as he walked out, leaving a grinning Rodney behind.
